Asalaamualaikum,

Sometimes mercy is not the best course of action. Yes indeed, Allah(SWT)'s messenger was the most merciful human, but his mercy wasn't without limits. If someone is going to take advantage of your mercy then it is foolish to be merciful. Cases such as that of banu Quraydah come into play. Another as for those that were in that blog above, mercy wouldnt be an appropriate measure.

'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) saying: There would arise towards the end of time a people who would be young in age and immature in thought, but they would talk (in such a manner) as if their words are the best among the creatures. They would recite the Qur'an, but it would not go beyond their throats, and they would pass through the religion as an arrow goes through the prey. So when you meet them, kill them, for in their killing you would get a reward from Allah on the Day of Judgment.

I am not saying that they are the khawarij. Only thing i am hinting at is that mercy at times is foolish and actions such as killing is a better course to take.

Asalaamualaikum,

-Zahid

nabeyuna Muhammad was the pinnacle of excellence ... he was a Mercy to all mankind
but if forgiveness was always always the right course of action, then the families of victims wouldn't be really given the choice of having the criminal or killer punished / executed.
